Decision 2025
Some thoughts on the primary in NYC which are, as my Nana would say, "a day late and a dollar short."
THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST. I will not be talking much, if at all, about politics. I started my career in Washington, DC and that was enough. But the NYC primary was yesterday and while the results are in and there will be a lot of talk about the general election, I wanted to share some general thoughts.
I’ve been reading and thinking about decision making lately and I plan to write a bit more about what I’m learning and thinking about soon. But I wanted to share this rudimentary graphic I made to illustrate how I think about considering candidates.
Yes, I feel very passionately about policy and I try to evaluate where the candidates stand on issues that I care about. But before I do that I start here:
Right now the city is being led by an incompetent criminal (someone I’d place in the bottom left box). I would like to hire a competent non-criminal, so my voting decisions will be focused on candidates I can reasonably assume are in the top right box.
That’s all for now…
